Indoor and Outdoor Performance Study of Metallic Zinc Particles in Black Paint to Improve Solar Absorption for Solar Still Application

In this study, the effects of metallic zinc (Zn) particles were studied to increase surface temperature on a solar-still absorber, which is major component increased production. Various concentrations Zn mixed in black paint and applied absorber plate. SEM XRD used examine confirm morphology phase identification as-received powder. UV-Vis spectroscopy was light-absorption properties. Finally, extensive indoor testing (using an improvised solar emulator) outdoor conducted optimize concentration. The specimens containing 10 wt% showed highest temperature, i.e., 103.53 °C conditions at 1000 W/m2 irradiation, 59.17% higher than bare aluminum plate 17.57% only black-paint-coated On other hand, reached just 87.53 °C, compared 80.00 for 60.62 aluminum.
